The rice weed window after transplanting

Most rice herbicide failures are water failures. Finest 5% SL and similar pre-emergent tools need a sealed basin and standing water so the product sits where germinating weeds sit.

Apply within 5–7 days after transplanting, keep 3–4 inches of water, and do not drain immediately. Leaky bunds waste both water and chemistry.

Ask your dealer to check the shaker-bottle technique if the crew is new. Uniform granules or liquid distribution across the katta matters as much as the rate on the label.
